You may stay in the PACU for a few hours or overnight, depending on when an inpatient bed becomes available. You will also have a chest tube that goes into a drainage device (see Figure 1). You may have a urinary catheter in your bladder to monitor the amount of urine you’re making. You will also have compression boots on your lower legs.
